Charlie the Cat ~ Happy New Year

I couldn't wait to make a card using my new stamp set from my daughter and her boyfriend. You see the two just recently acquired a kitty (Charlie) thanks to my friend, who found him and was looking for a good home.  We have not ever had cats so it's a learning experience for all of us.  I'm very allergic to cats, but enjoy visiting/playing with him.  Charlie is a bit frisky you might say..  with a bit of attitude.  😉

He was a sickly little fellow, but thanks to his vet visit, and medications, he's lively as can be now.

Here is a picture of him.

So onto the card.  I received these 4 stamps for Christmas and wanted to put all of them on one card so as to "show" them off.  I think they are cute.   The little kitty reminds me of Charlie.
It was all pretty straight forward stamping, nothing out of the ordinary but I think it turned out delightful.

Thank you for spending some time with me, I've had a fabulous year of watching my blog grow with friends.  Thank you

I wish you all a Blessed Happy Healthy New Year.
May 2017 be filled with all good things.
May all our stamping dreams come true.

SSC142 SEALED WITH A SKETCH~Martini Glass

I trust you all had a Blessed Christmas celebration.  I know we had our kids all home this year and it was fabulous.   We go low key on gifts and big on family time.

Today I made a card for the sketch challenge at: Sunday Stamps Blog  I wanted my card to look like a martini glass, and with that being said, I've not ever had one, but the glasses are so classy looking.   I stamped the little cherries using an older set from stampin up called:  tart and tangy. The sentiments are my new Christmas Washi tape from my daughter.   I used gold glitter paper for the glass and stem, and then topped it with acetate paper to make it look like  a real glass.  It came together pretty quickly.   I added one more picture so you could see the "glass" better.

🍸Here's to a Happy Healthy Spectacular Stamping New Year🍸

Snowmen Toilet Paper Rolls

Hello Friends, Today I have a different kind of project to showcase.  Here they are these cute snowmen toilet paper rolls.  My kids and I love googly eyes, we have even put them on a few of our plants in the house, things just have so much more personality with them.    I also attached a poem  I found on pinterest to the back which read, " Money is scarce and times are hard, so we're giving you this instead of a card, Something to use, something to share, so bottoms up, just 'cause we care." How funny is that saying to match those cute snowmen?   Wouldn't they look lovely sitting in the bathroom?

Updates:  We have our new HE Maytag washing machine in the basement now.  Thanks to hubby and our daughter's boyfriend. The new washing machine will take some getting use to, these high efficiency  appliances always do.   Our water leak is apparently from the roof damn, sigh.  Just hope it don't do anymore damage.   My mom has had a few complications with her dialysis and pneumonia, and everyday is a challenge for her.
But like the song in the movie White Christmas
We need to count our blessings.

I also added a few pictures of the side yard.
We are getting snow again.

Thank you for visiting today.
I hope you will stop back again.

🎄MERRY CHRISTMAS🎄

SSC142 SEALED WITH A SKETCH~Believe

Well, it's just been one of those weeks.  My goodness, The hand me down washing machine decided to spin it's last cycle in life, and hence sending us out in a scurry to find a replacement. In all our 24 years of marriage, I've not ever had a new one, so I was shocked at the expense and nervous about getting one, after all I was use to the old beater, we had to use pliers to adjust water temperatures, the lid was held on by one lasting hinge, and well, let's just say it was an antique, But all good things must come to an end Then today my computer mouse decided it should go too, but I thought maybe just perhaps it was disconnected because sometimes

that can happen in our little space, but when I finally made it down to the floor to check out the situation, what to my wandering eyes should appear ?  Water, puddles all over, so some how our porch we enclosed for office space has sprung a leak or something.. tis the season to be jolly.  My poor husband will have to look into that tonight, plus pick up our washing machine, I sure hope things go smoothly.  .. There is so much to fill you all in on.. but seeing that I've wrote so much already I will just get to the card.  I have entered this in the sketch challenge at: Sunday Stamps
I turned the sketch upside down and went for a Christmas tree approach using embossing folders for some contrast.  I also used some ribbon for train tracks and glitter for the Star topper which I used to represent the circle in the sketch challenge..  I orginally planned on the little train climbing up the side of the mountain, but it just didn't look right, but I did stick with the sentiment believe.
I've also included a couple pictures of this cute little fella, who was enjoying a mid morning snack.

Thank you so much for visiting today.

Merry Monday #226 {Winter Fun}~Dashing through the Snow.

I might be sounding like a bit of a broken record. ( I wonder where that originated from, or perhaps it's just my family that uses the phrase) any how a frozen ❄ record at that.  I'll add my own little twist.  Haha.  Hoping for above zero temps today.  Speaking of cold weather, and snow coming this weekend, (they say up to a foot is what we can expect. hmmm.. we will see) I'll keep ya all posted.   So, I thought it would be fun to play along with the challenge at: Merry Monday Blog   I used  the Festival of Trees stampin up set along with Snow much fun by Avery Elle.  I think it turned out super cute, I even tied some sparkly twine on the middle tree for garland.  I imagine sleds will be our way  of getting around this weekend should we get all that snow, and speaking of which on the card I tore the paper for the hill and then just frayed it a bit to look like fluffy snow.

I sure am glad you stopped in by my blog for a visit.
Browse around and leave a comment or two.  I would love to hear from you.  Don't forget to follow my blog.  That would make my day.  Thanks so much.

#GDP066~Happy New Year

Brrrr...❄ It's cold here in WI.  The windshield is in the negative zero marks and the snow is swirling around the houses.   I think my fingers are frozen just trying to type, but I had to warm the heart with this delightfully, sparkly, burst of New Year cheer.  I'm playing along with the  sketch challenge at:
I used some blue glitter paper for the background, and the bursting sparkler and sentiment are from stampin up: It's a celebration.  Indeed it is.  I also added a brad to enhance the sparkle, along with  some lovely silver  twine to the side.. so it's all glittery and gorgeous.  Just right for bringing in the New Year.

Thank you so much for  visiting my blog today.  Take a moment to browse around and leave a comment.  I would love to hear from you and to have you follow my blog.

Collage of Christmas Cards, and much much MORE

WoW,  I can't believe my last post was Dec. 2nd. So much has been going on, I just haven't had the time to get it together here.  However still stamping so I just made a collage of my cards today instead of having 7 different posts.    Which one  do you like best?  I think the top three are my favorites  in this selection.
I also wanted to share some super exciting news.  I was a top pick at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and I  have the honor of  being a guest designer.  😊  Some buddy pinch me, I must be dreaming.. This is so absolutely exciting, I just hope I can make a fabulous card for them.  My heart is filled with so much JOY.
Here is a quick little video of this past weekend, and our snowfall, please note the lovely (haha) snowmobile junk yard, train yard  next to us, and excavating company across the road.  We live in an industrial park area, however the fenced in backyard makes it cozy, except for all the noise .  Wink wink.. so without further ado.. the video.

Here are a few pictures of the side yard, with the little critters enduring the frosty elements.    I also made them and orange juice ring.  Not sure if they will like it, but thought I'd give it a try and see what they think.

And lastly I had to show you what I've been making.  I'm not very good at crocheting, however I wanted to do something special with this yarn, so I could see it everyday being it's  a purchase from the "Pink Stamper"  and her sister.  So I made a cute little koozie cover for my water bottle, and wrapped some of the yarn around a jar to hold my most used stamping tools.  What do you think?  I even have some left over..hmmm what to do now??

I want to say a GREAT BIG THANKYOU!!! to my new followers that is so encouraging to see people joining in.  I appreciate it more then words can express.   If you want to know more about the cards today, please just leave me a message in the comment section.

I hope you're all having a lovely Christmas Season.
I'll share one more dear picture with you.  My husband surprised me by lighting one of the trees in our yard.  I love it. 💗
Merry Christmas

THE BIG FLAKE

Here it is, drum roll please.... The BIG FLAKE.  I made this by using my new snowflake die.  I ran it through the big shot, but it just didn't seem to cut the card stock good, so then I googled what the problem could be, and apparently I need the precision plate to cut things like this.  However, I added a few little shims (paper) and that helped a bit.  I just don't want to wreck my big shot.  I use it all the time.  In fact my cutting plates are so warped and that could be the problem too, I've not ever bought a new pair yet.  I think this card is just simply lovely with it being so elegant, even for a big "flake"  haha.. and talking about flakes.. I might be a bit flaky because I think this squirrel was winking at me as I took the picture.  Apparently I shouldn't be so delusional it's the scratch he was trying to itch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
 🎄Merry Christmas🎄

Flurry of Flakes

Guess what I was thinking of when I made this card?  Snow.. that's right and of course the song that came to my mind because of the movie I am watching is: White Christmas .  I used my new snowflake die, and it was very difficult to get all the pieces out.  The next card I post you will be able to see the big flake better.. haha.  That just makes me smile.    This is the time of year that I just love getting mail.  I literally wait for the postal worker, to see if I get any cards.   Hope you're all having a grand evening.  Thank you for visiting and for following my blog.

LUMBERJACK MOOSE

Well, look at this lovely little lumberjack moose, so rustic with the plaid background, sprig of evergreen, and pine cones too.  The message of Christmas rings true, with the lovely verse held up by the moose antlers.  I'm working frantically to get my Christmas cards done.  I never give myself enough time.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog.

Pop up Panel Christmas card with video

I'm so excited to share my first ever pop up panel card.  Oh my goodness it actually turned out~ Can you believe it?   I have such a difficult time with my measuring and cutting, but I got it on the first try. *insert happy dance.  I  also made a very unprofessional video to show ya.  Aren't ya all just so thrilled about that? haha!  Please forgive the quality of the little clip, but I thought it would be fun to see how nicely it opens.  This is one card I'm actually super proud of. 😊   You can find the directions at: Dawn's Stamping Thoughts

Hope you like it.

Have a Fabulous Day.

Mom's 65th Birthday

With all the excitement of entering card challenges lately,  I forgot to share the card I made for my mom.  Her birthday🎂 was Nov. 18th.  and I thought how fitting to have a cute spring chick for a young 65 year old.  A few tiny star brads among the confetti embossing makes it stand out a bit better.   I had to fussy cut the balloon.  I've not purchased a punch yet, perhaps someday.😉
Update on my mom: She is in stage 5 kidney failure and goes to dialysis 3x a week, and as of last week, it's not taking well, so they have increased her time that she spends there.  Her diabetes still poses to be a huge problem for her, as does her blood pressure, she takes 5 pills a day for that and insulin 2x a day.  Her foot is healing nicely after her toe had to be amputated, so we are thankful for that.  I just ask for continued prayer for her and strength for my dad to keep taking such good care of her.  He's 70.
Thank you so much. 💗

RRCB52~Snowman

I really enjoy the sketch challenge at:  Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.   I hope you will take a moment to play along, or at least check out some of the amazing cards everyone has created.  Great work.

Today I chose the oldie (1997) but goldie "Let it Snow" stamp set from Stampin Up.  I added a few sequins for some sparkle.  I used some ribbon across the bottom, which I like to think is older just because it looks a little vintage to me. Nevertheless I think it worked lovely here.

Thank you so much for visiting today.

RRCB52~Christmas Truck

They have a delightful sketch challenge over at: Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  I hope you all get a chance to play along. I love seeing what others come up with.  I especially like this blog because it challenges us to use our older stamp sets.  So it's fun to bring out the favorites again.
Today, I used my Loads of Love Stampin up set from 2004.  I had some sparkly green paper left over and thought it would make a nice back drop with the green foil trees.  I was pretending the little man and woman in the truck are my husband and myself delivering gifts to our kids for Christmas.. oh how my imagination can "drive" me crazy.  😉 Did you notice the tires are stuck in the snow?  I couldn't choose what picture looked best.  So I put both in for the viewing. Thank you so much for visiting with me today.  I look forward to you stopping back.  I'd love to have you follow my blog,   that just really makes a gal happy.

SSC140 SKETCH TIME~Snowglobe

I had one of those nights (again) where the pain wakes  a gal up, so I decided to put it to good use and make another card for the challenge at: Sunday Stamps Blog . I had to post both pictures in hopes you could see the glitter background paper in one or the other.😉  It also felt like I needed a sentiment, so hence the add on there.   I used some mica flakes from stampin up for the inside of the snow globe, and a bit of glitter, not the wisest choice when you're tired.. I ended up with glitter everywhere including my eyes.  The stamp set is from mama elephant~Believe in Magic.   I have always been fascinated with snow globes and had quite a collection, but life has a way of saying to "much"  so I sold a few to which I now regret, ugh.    I wasn't sure if the bold red Christmas would be to much, but in the end I'm glad I went with some color.  I also like the sparkly twine around the base of the globe.  It brings all that glitter together marvelously.

I wanted to share a picture of the other advent tree I made.  The first one on the right hand side I blogged about.. the other I made quite quickly and strayed away from the design.. My daughter liked it better.  She said it looks like a bunch of little Christmas presents.    Any ways the kids each have one now and it's fully loaded with candy for them.
Thank you so much for visiting with me today.  Please remember I'd love to have you also become a follower of my blog.💓

Challenge #221 - Anything Goes~Winter Wonderland

I'm not sure how I came across this lovely blog challenge, but when I found it, I new I wanted to give it a try.  It's my first time here at: Addicted to Stamps.  I mean the name alone sounds like my life.  haha.. any ways anything goes is the name of the game.. so here it is.  A delightful moose scene.. ice skates and all in this winter wonderland.  I thought the background plaid fit my little lumberjack moose perfectly.  A few flecks of snow flake glitter for some sparkle around the pond of ice.. and my very last silver snowflake brad to tie it all together.
Thank you for visiting with me today.  Please browse my blog and become a friend.  That would make me smile😊 and who doesn't love to smile.    As I always say:  ☺Keep Smiling and Keep Stamping☺

SSC140 SKETCH TIME~Santa Belt

When you're completely stressed out, and the inlaws are coming over for dinner and call to say they are a 30 minutes away.. what better time to get out some card stock and stamps.  I really needed to de-stress a bit, and cool my jets so to speak.  So I made a card for the sketch challenge at: Sunday Stamps Blog I just looked at it again and immediately thought Santa belt.  I think it turned out lovely with that shiny red card stock and glitter buckle.  I used my new sentiment  from  Sweet and Sassy Born This Day set.  I really love all the sentiments in this little package.    I also took a picture with the flash and thought if looked like velvety fur.. so had to share that snap shot too.
I suppose I better give my dinner some attention.. don't want it burned or cold.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog.

SSC140~Woodsy Christmas

Welcome to my take on the sketch challenge at: Sunday Stamps Blog  I started with a completely different idea, I wanted use my little cabin in the woods🌲 stamp, but I honestly don't know how to add color to it, besides just the one that I ink it up with.  I wish I was a seasoned stamper and knew the tricks of the trade.  Any ways switched my idea and went with this cute little Santa fox in the woods, so sticking to that theme, I was so happy to use my new little mini mason jar card holder.(it has a cute snow covered pine in the jar)   Although if you note the red glitter paper got a little boo boo on it, because of the card holder, so had to clip it on the inside.
Thank you for stopping by my blog, hope you enjoy your visit.  Please take a moment to follow my blog.  That would make my day.

MOJO475~SNOWMAN

There is a wonderfully fun  challenge at: Mojo Monday Blog.   ❆When I first saw the sketch, I immediately thought of Christmas for some reason, and I knew that's the direction I would head with it.    I used a little individual snowman stamp that I had purchased years ago, and the sentiment is from sweet -n- sassy.  I think it turned out cute. Not the traditional Christmas colors, but I do like purples and grays together.   Hope you like it too.
I'll probably get a lot of stamping done today, since the cold weather hit the pain intensified so I'll be indoors a bit more.  Thank Goodness for stamps and friends like YOU.
Thank you so much for visiting.

COLLECTION OF CHRISTMAS CARDS

Do you ever just get in a stamping mode?  My desk turned into a paper mountain and scraps all over the floor, and I just kept plowing through it making these delightful cards. 🎄  I mean seriously inky fingers and smudges.. I really should keep a box of handy wipes near by.   These cards are an odd size because I wanted to make cards to fit the abundance of long envelopes  I have collected over the years from when we use to do family pictures.  So that is why I came up with the one sided card.  Just a front no inside.   I plan on mailing these anonymously to people in our phone book this Christmas season.  I hope it will brighten their day.

Looks like I lost a blog follower today, makes my 💔heart sad,😢 but I understand there are so many amazing and creative blogs to follow.  I wish them wellness and happiness.   God Bless.
But, it reminds me also how grateful I am to all of you who stick with me.  Thank you.

HSS Sketch Challenge #251~Merry Christmas Owl

When I saw the sketch challenge at: Hand Stamped Sentiments Blog I knew I wanted to play along.🙂

I used some designer paper for the background that I embossed with a diagonal stripe.  I chose the Cozy Critters, and Flurry of Wishes stampin up sets.  For the owl hat I used a Lawn Fawn stamp.    It came together quickly.  I like the sparkly green paper behind the branch.

In sticking with birds I thought I'd share a picture of my feathered friends playing in the snow.
Thank you for visiting me today.
Would love to have you follow my blog.

Pretty Pine

This card is just way to many stripes for me.  In fact this is the second take on it.   I finally just decided to leave it as is.   I was so excited to have an oval die.  I see many projects with such a design but always had to improvise.  So feeling very blessed to have these, I hear they are on back order now.  phew.. I got them.   Not sure I should of added sequins to the tree along with little pearls, it's a bit much, sometimes I have such a hard time with less is more,, and also with patterned paper.  But nevertheless there it is.
I also wanted to share a picture of this little birdie enjoying his popcorn treat.  I had the wonderful opportunity to get a picture of a blue jay, but by the time I got my camera he flew away.  Maybe next time.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
